Information from The University of Oslo:USIT
Oslo, March 18th, 2020
The University Center for Information Technology (USIT) at The University of Oslo (UiO), is responsible for critical functions such as IT-infrastructure and IT-services in Norway. We have set in place infection control measures, one being that most of our employees are working from home.
This is a work situation we are well equipped for and all our IT-infrastructure and IT-services are working as normal. In addition, we are working to develop and deploy new digital solutions for teaching, meetings and easy interaction for UiO students and employees. Many of the solutions are already in place and being used.
Like most public enterprises, emergency preparedness is in place both centrally at UiO and locally at USIT. We are following our emergency preparedness and contingency plans and measures are in place to maintain the operations of critical systems. This means that if many of our employees become sick with the Corona virus or other serious conditions should occur, then the operation of the most critical IT-infrastructure and IT-services will be prioritized.
Should this happen, we will inform our customers as soon as we can of the potential consequences this can have for the services you use. NIX is defined as a critical service. As always, USIT will prioritize stable operations and prioritize problem solving when needed.
We wish you the best in these abnormal times.
